Courtroom User Notes

 

Basic Start Up for Classroom Mode

1. Turn lectern to face the class.
2. Remove the acrylic cover on the touch screen.
3. Touch the screen on lectern to make it active.
4. Press “Classroom” when prompted for room configuration.
5. Press “Done”.
6. View the Main System Menu screen on the lectern.
7. Turn and observe the path of the screen to be sure that it is unobstructed.
8. Press “Screen” on the Main System Menu screen on the lectern.
9. Press “Down” on the Main System Menu. The screen will auto stop.
10. Press “Projector”, a submenu will appear.
11. Press “On” in the submenu. There will be a short delay before starting.

Basic Shutdown for Classroom Mode

1. Place mouse on the base, be sure the green charging light appears.
2. Place all remote controls in the cabinet.
3. Turn power off on the DVD\VCR unit.
4. Lock lectern cabinet.
5. Press “Quit” on the Main System Menu.
6. Press “Yes” when prompted to continue with shut down.
7. Verify that screen auto retracts.
8. Verify that the projector powers off.
9. Replace acrylic cover over touch screen.

Using a Computer Application with and without Audio

1. Complete process for Basic Start Up for Classroom Mode.
2. Press “Select Source” from the Main System Menu.
3. Press “Lectern”.
4. Press “Publish”.
5. Press on the computer desktop field. This will toggle to a full computer screen.
6. Select the application you would like to use (i.e., PowerPoint, IE, Word, etc.).
7. Press on the computer desktop field. This will toggle to the Main System Menu.

To Add Sound

8. Press “Select Source”.
9. Press “Playback VCR” under the Video Cassette group.
10. Press “Play”.
11. Press “Select Source”.
12. Press “Lectern”.
13. Press “Publish”.
14. Adjust the volume control on the Main System Menu using the ↑,↓, or Mute.

Using the Document Camera

1. Complete process for Basic Start Up for Classroom Mode.
2. Slide out the top doors on the document camera cabinet.
3. Pull the unit up by the base of the unit, not the platform. Please use care.
4. Slide in the top doors under the unit platform.
5. Extend the lamps up and out to the side of the unit.
6. Press the release button on the base of the camera arm.
7. Lift the camera arm up until it locks into place.
8. Check that the camera head is facing down.
9. Press the toggle power switch to “on”.
10. Control focus and adjustment functionality on the document camera (refer to training).
11. Return to the lectern.
12. Press “Select Source”.
13. Press “Document Camera”.
14. Press “Publish”.
15. Verify image appears on screen (printed materials are best).

Putting the Document Camera Away

16. Press the toggle power switch to “off”.
17. Grasp the camera head.
18. Press the release button on the base of the camera arm. Lower the camera arm to the base.
19. Fold the lamps back in and down.
20. Slide in the top doors out from under the unit platform.
21. Pull the unit up by the base of the unit, not the platform. Please use care.
22. Push the unit down by the base of the unit into the cabinet. Please use care.
23. Slide in the top doors on the document camera cabinet.

Using the DVD/VCR Unit

1. Complete process for Basic Start Up for Classroom Mode.
2. Press “Select Source”.
3. Press “Playback VCR” under the Video Cassette group.
4. Press “Publish”.
5. Turn power on the DVD\VCR unit.
6. Insert DVD or video tape into unit.
7. Verify that the output (DVD or VCR) is correct on the face of the DVD/VCR unit.
8. Press “Play” on the DVD\VCR unit.
9. Control the DVD\VCR on the unit (forward, reverse, etc.). *Creston controls DO NOT WORK.
10. Adjust the volume control on the Main System Menu using the ↑,↓, or Mute.
