What we can do:

The Self Help Legal Center is here to help you represent yourself.  The Center provides procedural information and can tell you what self-help packets, classes, or books are available on a particular topic or where the answer to a legal question may be found.  The Center can answer questions about Self Help Legal Center forms, but only if the question pertains to what a word, phrase, or the form itself means.

What we cannot do:

The Self Help Legal Center cannot answer legal questions such as, “Should I give up custody, file for divorce, get an order of protection?”  If legal advice is sought, the Center will suggest that the individual talk to an attorney.  The Center cannot answer questions about whether an individual should use a particular packet or form.

Are services confidential?

Our customers are not our “clients” and the Self Help Legal Center is not their “attorney”.  Therefore, any information that our customers give to the Center is not confidential.
