Jordan Matthis, J.D., 2013 Hometown: Chicago, Illinois Undergraduate: Political Science major with minor in African American Studies from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign What do you like/enjoy about your experience at the SIU School of Law? What I enjoy most about my experience at SIU is that faculty, staff, and fellow students all seek to help each other any way possible. The professors are very approachable and are always in their offices and happy to help if you need assistance with a lesson, or if you just need someone to talk to about life and the stress of law school. My fellow classmates are some of the best people I know. There is no maliciously competitive environment here are SIU. If I ever need notes or clarification on a topic, there is always someone there willing to help. Also, many of us have become close friends outside of the classroom. This makes the transition into law school a lot smoother...knowing there are others who not only want to see themselves succeed, but to see you succeed as well.
