I decided to go to SIU Law because I knew that law school was a really difficult and competitive environment, and SIU fostered an environment that was competitive but not cut-throat. Furthermore, Carbondale was appealing to me as a first-year law student and a newlywed because I knew that I would not have to spend a few hours in traffic every day. Coming from a large city, I am so used to my life revolving around rush hour traffic and going to school in Carbondale allows me to have a few hours a day to relax.
