May 10, 2015
SIU law student Adam Riley has been selected to serve on the editorial board for the symposium issue of the Harvard Journal of Law & Public Policy.
Riley is the first student from SIU to be selected for this prestigious position. He also serves as the managing editor for the Southern Illinois University Law Journal, and as the president of SIU's chapter of The Federalist Society.
"I am very humbled by the selection," Riley said. "It is very exciting to have the opportunity to work with one of the most widely circulated student-edited journals in the country. I am hopeful that my selection will bring some recognition to both our law school and our Federalist Society chapter."
The issue will feature articles written by judges and legal scholars who presented at the "Law and Innovation" symposium in February, 2015, at the University of Chicago Law School.
Riley will work on editing articles for the symposium issue over the summer. He will also work as a summer associate for HeplerBroom, LLC, in St. Louis, MO.
In the fall, he will work as a judical extern for Illinois Supreme Court Justice Lloyd A. Karmeier. He worked previously as an extern for Justice Stephen L. Spomer, Illinois Appellate Court (5th district).
