Subscription Electronic Resources


The electronic resources listed below are subject to license restrictions on who may use the resources, and where and under what circumstances they may be used.

"Available to SIUC Campus Users" means, generally, that anyone using a computer connected to the SIUC campus network has access. If you are affiliated with SIUC, you should be able to access these campus-wide resources from off-campus using your SIUC VPN.

"Available to SIU Law Users Only" means, generally, that anyone using a computer connected to the law school network, including members of the SIU Law faculty or staff and SIU Law School students using their Law VPN to access the law school's wireless network, has access. Members of the SIU Law faculty or staff and SIU Law School students should also be able to access these law-school resources from off-campus using their Law VPN.

Chronicle of Higher Education, including Chronicle RSS News Feeds.

FIRSTSEARCH databases, no password required (State Grant).

HeinOnline—includes full-text Law Journals, European Center for Minority Issues publications, Federal Register, Legal Classics, Treaties and Agreements, U.S. Attorney General Opinions, U.S. Federal Legislative History Library, U.S. Presidential Library, U.S. Statutes at Large, U.S. Reports and other U.S. Supreme Court information. Many of these collections include documents too old to be available online anywhere else.

Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education (IICLE) SmartBooks.

Law Library Microform Consortium-Digital—see description for LLMC-Digital.

LegalTrac—indexes legal periodicals, with some full text. Works better with Internet Explorer. See Using LegalTrac to Find Legal Articles.

LLMC-Digital—includes selected legal and law-related materials from U.S. Federal, U.S. States, Anglo-American, and Foreign jurisdictions. A growing collection of materials not available online anywhere else.

NewsBank InfoWeb—includes AccessUN, Access World News, and other hot topics and special reports (State Grant).
