The official code of Illinois statutes is Illinois Compiled Statutes, which is abbreviated "Ill. Comp. Stat." in citations (KFI1230.3 .A3).

Illinois has two unofficial, annotated statutory codes:

• West's Smith-Hurd Illinois Compiled Statutes Annotated, which is abbreviated "Ill. Comp. Stat. Ann." in citations (KFI1230.3 .A4); and
• Illinois Compiled Statutes Annotated (KFI1230.4 .A45).

The previous version of the Illinois statutory code was Illinois Revised Statutes, which was abbreviated "Ill. Rev. Stat." in citations (KFI 1230.1). WARNING: This set is no longer updated and should only be used for historical research! USE ILLINOIS COMPILED STATUTES FOR CURRENT RESEARCH.

Illinois session laws are officially published in Laws of Illinois (KFI1225 .I4). West's Illinois Legislative Service (KFI1230.3 .A4) contains the text of session laws as well as other information.
