Underscoring the Medical-Legal Partnership (MLP) concept is an understanding that human health is not solely dependent on pathology and medical treatment. Instead, human health can be affected by social factors and unmet legal needs. MLPs combine physicians, health care providers . . . and attorneys into an interdisciplinary team that can proactively address unmet social and legal needs.
