John F. Lynn

John, a native of Chicago, received a Juris Doctorate from Southern Illinois University School of Law in 1979, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Southern Illinois University in 1976. Prior to his current administrative position, John served enlisted and commissioned tours in the United States Marine Corps, and retired with over twenty years of active service in 1997. He is a graduate of the US Army Armor School, The Amphibious Warfare School, The Defense Language Institute, The John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and The US Army Command and General Staff College; and commanded infantry and armor (tank) units both stateside and overseas. John was in private practice before joining the School of Law staff, and has an extensive background in personnel, budget management and construction.
His current responsibilities include the management of the law school facility; budget planning and oversight; administration of clerical staff; oversight of hiring procedures for all personnel; administration of law school student employment program; completion of internal and external reports; and general administrative responsibilities as assigned by the Dean. |
