Duties:
 The United States Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces exercises world-wide appellate jurisdiction over court-martial cases involving U.S. military personnel. Cases on our docket address a broad range of legal issues, including constitutional law, criminal law, evidence, administrative law, and national security law. Our decisions are subject to direct review by the Supreme Court of the United States. Our clerks perform an important public service in an environment designed to enhance their legal skills.

 Judge Effron anticipates one opening for a summer intern in 2010. Consideration will be given to law students who have completed at least one semester of law school at the time of application. APPLICATION PERIOD: February 1, 2010 until the position is filled.
Benefits:
 The compensation is similar to the summer intern compensation provided by other federal government organizations.
Comments:
 Candidates for the summer nternship should submit: (1) a brief cover letter; the cover letter should note the position for which the candidate is applying (summer intern); (2) a resume; (3) a law school transcript (a photocopy is acceptable); (4) two letters of recommendation from faculty members or employers familiar with the candidate's legal work; and (5) a writing sample.
