The faculty at the SIU School of Law are drawn from distinguished practice and academic settings. They are known not only for their legal research and scholarship, but also for their ability and commitment to teaching.
Our faculty include nationally recognized scholars in such fields as natural resources law, tax law, evidence, international law, intellectual property, elder law, family law, and legal history. You will study with professors who are not only leaders in the legal profession, but serve on local, state, and national committees. All School of Law students enjoy 24-hour, 7-day a week access to the School of Law Library.
The Law Library’s professional staff, available every weekday and four weeknights, provide a wide range of services to patrons, including tours, lectures, and reference assistance. The web-based catalog provides immediate and detailed information about the library’s collection and includes links to a wide variety of law-related Internet resources. A LAN-based computer lab provides access to computer assisted research systems, both legal and non-legal, as well as computer-aided instruction, word processing, and the Internet.
Ample seating in a variety of settings, including tables, unreserved carrels, and locked carrels for select students, help make the Library the activity center of the SIU School of Law. All facilities are fully accessible to individuals with disabilities. The Library is a selective depository for federal government publications and a complete depository for Illinois government publications. The Library is a member of Illinet, the Mid-American Law School Library Consortium, and the Chicago Legal Academic System.
