Assistant Professor Lucian Dervan was appointed Co-Chair of the Academics Committee of the American Bar Association’s Criminal Justice Section.  The Academics Committee is charged with connecting legal educators in the field of criminal justice with one another and with the practicing bar. 

The committee is also charged with providing legal educators with opportunities to engage more deeply with issues of law and policy relevant to the functioning of the criminal justice system. (Appointment Effective August 2012)

He was also appointed Chair of the Conference Steering Committee for the upcoming American Bar Association Criminal Justice Section conference on International Internal Investigations, which will take place in Frankfurt, Germany in December 2012.
