Southern Illinois University School of Law is an outstanding, small public law school that provides its students with an optimal mix of theoretical and experiential educational opportunities in a student-centered environment in order to prepare them for a changing legal profession in a global environment. SIU School of Law seeks to fill up to three full-time tenure-track faculty positions to begin in the 2012-2013 academic year. With a range of curricular needs, the School of Law welcomes applications from candidates with a wide variety of interests. Particular areas of need include, but are not limited to, constitutional law, torts, contracts, and business, corporate, and commercial law. Teaching packages may include these subjects or others depending on institutional need and the interests and experience of the candidate.
Rank & Title: Assistant or Associate Professor of Law. Rank depends on qualifications.
Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must possess the Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school or its equivalent and an outstanding law school academic record. Factors to be considered in assessing the academic record include: rank in class, participation on law review, participation in other co-curricular activities such as moot court, honors received, and other factors relevant to academic performance.
For Associate Professor rank: three or more years teaching experience and demonstrated achievements in scholarship and teaching consistent with the tenure and promotion standards of the Southern Illinois University School of Law.
Duties & Responsibilities: Classroom instruction, scholarship, and service.
