Patricia Ross McCubbin
Professor of Law
Professor McCubbin is an active member of the ABA's Section on Environment, Energy and Resources (SEER), currently serving as co-chair of its Constitutional Law Committee. In that role, she is responsible for planning all activities of the committee, including panel discussions on preemption, takings, standing, and other hot topics at annual SEER meetings. Previously she served as the committee’s vice-chair for public service.
For nearly a decade, Professor McCubbin has been involved with the ABA's Annual Conference on Environmental Law, one of two premier events sponsored each year by SEER. She served as a member of the Planning Committee for the 31st Annual Conference in 2002. In addition, she has moderated or spoken on several panels, including sessions on judicial oversight of environmental requirements, the Endangered Species Act, federal enforcement policies, the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, and constitutional issues in climate change litigation.
Professor McCubbin is also engaged in university-wide activities. She is a member of several dissertation committees for Ph.D. candidates in SIU's Environmental Resources and Policy Program. In addition, she serves as a mentor and host to many international students through the Fulbright Association and the SIU International Friends Club.
