SBA'S 3RD ANNUAL RUN FROM THE LAW (SCHOOL) 5K!
What is the Run from the Law (School) 5K?
On Sunday, March 24th, at 1:00 PM, the SBA is hosting its third annual 5K Run/Walk to benefit Land of Lincoln Legal Assistance. All levels of skill are encouraged to participate in this 3.14 mile event. If you're already a runner, this will be the perfect event to test your New Years "get fit" goals! If you're not ready to run or walk a 5K, check out running sites with 8 week training plans, like: http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/training-program.asp?p=4
Why participate in the 5K?
Land of Lincoln is a non-profit organization which provides free legal services to low-income persons and senior citizens in 65 counties in central and southern Illinois. This event aims to bring the local legal community together to support an organization that enables attorneys to practice in public interest settings, and brings justice to those desperately seeking legal aid they could not otherwise afford.
How do you sign-up to participate?
You can register for the 5K by filling out a registration form (found on top of the student mailboxes) and returning it to Veronika Jones' (3L) mailbox in an envelope along with your $20 payment, by signing up online at https://www.signmeup.com/89400 (note: there is a minimal fee implemented by the website), or by signing-up during table times in the formal lounge (more details regarding those dates to come). Sign-up by March 20th to receive your student discount and guarantee a race t-shirt in your size!
Make sure to add our Facebook event page and Twitter account (@RunfrmtheLaw5k) to stay updated on forthcoming information!
Not a runner/walker?
If you're not interested in running or walking the 5K, but don't want to miss out on all the race day fun, we'd love to have you as a volunteer! Email Veronika at email@example.com.
We hope you will not only come out to support Land of Lincoln and represent SIU Law on race day, but invite your friends and family to come too!
